이번에도 월요일이니까 내적댄스 유발곡 하나 소개합니다. 작년에 움프를 통해 내한했던 아비치와 니키 로메로가 함께한 I Could Be The One 입니다. 뮤직비디오가 참으로 의미심장해요. 한 직장인이 현실에 점점 지쳐가며, 일탈을 꿈꾸다가 결국에는 밖으로 뛰쳐나가는데요. 마지막에 황당한 반전이 있습니다.

 

사실 한 모임에 소개하는 글의 소재로 올리려 했었는데, 뮤직비디오를 보시면 알겠지만 성적인 유머도 상당수 들어가 있어서 보는 사람에 따라 어떻게 생각하실 지 잘 모르겠더라구요. 마냥 직장인의 일상탈출을 코믹하게 그려낸 것 같지만, 또 가사와 함께 들으면 단순히 웃기려고만 하는 건 아닌 것 같습니다. 아래는 원문 가사입니다.

사실 뮤직비디오 속 주인공의 모습은 바로 우리의 모습이잖아요? 우리도 매번 현실에서 벗어나는 상상에서만 멈출 때가 많으니까요.

 

 국내의 모 통신사 광고로 유명해진, 극작가 버나드 쇼의 묘비명을 아시나요? 사실 국내에 소개된 묘비명은 대표적인 오역의 사례라고 합니다. 비록 오역이지만, 지금 소개하는 곡의 주제와는 너무나 잘 들어맞네요.

 

‘우물쭈물 거리다, 내 이렇게 될 줄 알았지.’

매번 생각만하고 있는 것은 아닌지, 한 번 다시 생각해봐야 겠습니다.
